Actually I'm learning too... I just arrived as the new Director of VII and I have inherrited the honour of hosting this site, so all the settings you see in my name were set up by my predecessor. Confused? Me too!

Hi Steven,

I like the 'Visionaires'-site...thanks form setting this up!! Like your pictures too! I'm not a computer-wizzard but what I don't understand: it seems there is no possiblity to include captions with (uploaded) pictures. I might be wrong here. Are the latest additions always being shown, or is it a random choice? I just wonder.

best wishes from Amsterdam, Vincent

frustrated that i still haven't recieved my copy of "dispatches" yet, i went through the website and found your essay, "The King is Dead..." overall, great stuff. i especially like your description of the internet's "fatal information trap."

i look forward to reading more of your words in future issues of dispatches.

best,
dave

I think the Valley pictures you refer to are by Balazs Gardi and the 9/11 pictures by Jim Nachtwey but thanks anyway.

Hi Gary... I just wanted to say that you are a brilliant photo journalist, and that I am so moved by your images. the Valley photo is like a "pieta"
it is so deep with emotion. I posted an image that I think you will appreciate of the shadow of the cross of St.Peter's church at ground zero. I was in Brooklyn on 9/11, stopped from driving in for a job by my wife who saw the second plane hit. I shot this image of the shadow cast by the sun a few weeks later, the path of light cleared by the loss of the towers. It is kind of a companion piece to your dramatic image os the towers falling..... wow..that was such an intense period, and you were right at the center of it all. thanks for bearing witness.
