Paco Elvira is an experienced photographer born and based in Barcelona. He specializes in documentary photography and has a valuable stock of life in Spain during the seventies, China at the end of the seventies and has followed the Northern Ireland conflict during the last 30 years.
He also specializes in travel and portraiture.He teaches photojournalism at Barcelona University.

Thanks for adding me as a friend on Visionaires. Times are certainly tough,
but lets hope we can both survive them and come out the other side of the recession.
One thing is for sure-we will always be photographers whatever happens. Even if I have to sweep the streets to earn a crust, I will still retain my passion for photography!

Copyright photography is having serious problems in Spain. You can check my post in www.pacoelvira.com “The stock photos, Capa and the copyright” (Spanish&English(though I’m afraid my English is not as accurate as my Spanish)) where you’ll see how big publishing companies intend to keep the photographers’ copyright. There’s also a link to the interview Rangefinder Magazine did to a good friend of mine ,Jeff Sedlik, former president of the Advertising Photographers of America. In this interview Jeff remarks the capital importance for the photographers of just hire the right to publish their images, never to sell them.
I’d like to know how the situation in your countries is.
