About Me:
Eleanor is an online magazine showcasing personal works and portfolios.

Founded by Matt Wright-Steel, Eleanor seeks works of personal importance by global visionaries.

The Eleanor Story:

A bit about me and how Eleanor came about:

Eleanor was conceived after a period of personal photographic drought. After years of image making, I felt I had lost my direction, my passion, and my obsession with the photographic image. I needed inspiration.

I began to talk to my friends and colleagues about their personal works; the “non-cash” photographic works that have potential to mature into quintessential works. The work our curiosity infects us with that leads to maxed-out credit cards, abandoned relationships, and drastic directional shifts.

I created Eleanor.

Eleanor is an ever-evolving document, a fluid experiment, an opportunity to showcase works of passion, of importance, of obsession…an opportunity to inspire.

Eleanor was conceived as both tangible and intangible, printed and online.

Seasonally, Eleanor will bring photographic works to its online platform. Additionally, Eleanor will invite selected photographers to be featured in the seasonal portfolio.

Each portfolio edition will be hand-made in my studio by me with a large percentage of the profits passed on to the photographers. As a photographer, I am well aware of the difficulties of our times. It may not amount to much financially, but I realize that photography is costly and every bit counts.

Each photographer selected for the seasonal portfolio will receive both, a personal edition and a gift edition. Portfolios are limited to a maximum of 100 editions per season.

It is my very meager way of saying thanks to a community for so much inspiration.

JPEG, Adobe sRGB, 950px longest side, 72dpi, Quality 10.
