Ed is a culturally ambiguous twenty-one year old visual journalist.
He covered his first big story during the Israel - Hezbollah conflict from southern Lebanon in 2006, when he was studying Arabic and International Relations in the Middle East during his second year of university. Since then, he has worked with Reuters and the Associated Press covering a wide range of news stories from the ongoing conflict in Somalia, child soldiers in Uganda, California wildfires, faith and conflict in the Holy Land, to fashion in New York City.
Ed has won numerous awards for his work, and earlier this year, he was selected by PDN as one of the 30 Emerging Photographers of 2008. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, Guardian UK, and many other publications. He speaks English, French, Chinese, Arabic, gets by in Hebrew, and is learning Farsi.
He carries his passport and camera with him everywhere he goes, and is no stranger to hopping on a plane, train, bus, or boat on a seconds notice.
