Hey Ali, Many thanks for your kind words. My site is hosted by NeonSky. Check them out if you have time. They are very reasonable and their support is fantastic. Cheers, David
Heyloo Ali, i don't know if we'v met, but we always can.
I am based in Bombay ya, not Delhi, but i do visit home, which is Noida, very close to Mayur Vihar actually.
So by any chance did we meet in Kashmir??!
Ali, I agree with you that it should be a normal thing in society, but after having two kids my wife and I have noticed that it is not. Breastfeeding comes with great difficulty for some women especially on the physical side (there are large support groups out there to help women through the various complications that can arise). However, it is not so much of being concerned about self image but about getting help and not isolating oneself. Mixed in with breastfeeding problems, postpartum emotions can leave women feeling isolated. As a result of this all many women do feel isolated and abandoned - real or not it is their feelings. I suppose it would be similar to someone dealing with depression, their feelings are real even if the reality may not be.
I was exploring the feeling of abandonment many breastfeeding mothers feel. It is something everyone knows is beneficial for the child, but at the same time it is something that "should" be done in private, leaving mothers feeling a bit left behind by society.
